CPA - Climate Proof Areas
Development and implementation of strategies for adaptation to climate change at the communal and county level
Purpose and contents
The project Climate Proof Areas aims to develop strategies and concepts for adaptation to the possible consequences of climate change in various regions of the southern North Sea area. The basis of this project is formed by pilot schemes with differing focus in the partner countries, the results of which are to serve as best-practice examples and lead to recommendations for transnational adaptation strategies. Additionally, Climate Proof Areas seeks to develop and provide a portfolio of possible concepts for adaptation to climate change in the southern North Sea region. CPA consists of four consecutive phases: analysis of the effects of climate change, development and trial of adaptation strategies, transnational conclusions and recommendations and the compilation of an adaptation portfolio.
