Research
Within the scope of the program INTERREG of the EU three researching projects are being executed in the project cluster "Europes sustainable coastal areas":
- enerCOAST, BlueGreen Coastal Energy Communities (Focus: Building up efficient value creating networks around energy from bio-resources ashore and off-shore)
- Climate Proof Areas, coastal communities ready for a changing world (Focus: Development and implementation of climate adaption strategies at the level of communities)
- POWER-Cluster, developing the North Sea offshore energy region (Focus: Using the potential for wind energy in the open North Sea)
The common aim of all of these projects is to develop strategies and precise measures wich help coastal regions of the North Sea to solve their problems occurring with coping with the consequences of climate change. Furthermore, the tasks are to master their structural development and to make important contributions to climate protection.
In all these projects the focus is laid upon the participation of and the collaboration with different stakeholders, partnering regions and other researching institutes.
